I don't even know if I truly recommend this, which is probably why I have to write this review in the first place. I'm a fantasy freak, I've loved the genre since I was a little kid and got my first library card. I started The Steel Remains by Richard Morgan in 2009. I read Richard Morgan's Altered Carbon a little while back on the recommendation of a friend. I downloaded it onto my Sony e-reader and took it on holiday. While he achieves only to a mild degree, on the way he does manage to spin an enticing tale along the way. É o primeiro livro de fantasia de Morgan, um autor de ficção científica muito conhecido pela trilogia Takeshi Kovacs. It's almost like a proto-political tendency or something. This is the first book in a series which has not seen a sequel released yet, though The Steel Remains was published back in 2008. I admit it; despite being a fan of the new fantasy-noir subgenre, I avoided reading Richard K. I avoided it because I'd read reviews mentioning graphic rape scenes. I'm thinking of Richard Morgan's The Steel Remains and its sequel, and, to an even greater extent, the Joe Abercrombie books, which are almost unbearably bleak. I'm slowly getting through the books I've been trying to finish up all year.
